See Ski Area in Paznaun – A Guide to Your Ski Day
The See ski area in the Paznaun Valley is a great choice for both a family ski day and focused technique training. However, choosing the right run involves more than its colour on the piste map: your ability, speed, snow conditions and goals for the day all play a part. I’m Patrick Zangerl, and I offer private lessons here. This page provides practical guidance for your ski day in See.
Where does your ski day in See begin?
The See lifts take you from the village up to the Medrig Alm area. If you book a private lesson with me, we usually meet at the mid-station in See; we will confirm the exact meeting point and time when you book. Allow plenty of time before your lesson for travelling, getting your equipment ready and taking the lift up.
You can find the latest piste and lift status, along with the official piste map, on the Bergbahnen Kappl & See website. Check it on the day to see which areas are open.
Which terrain suits your ability?
For beginners: We start on terrain where you can practise stopping, turning and using the lifts without feeling rushed. We choose the terrain on the day, based on the pistes that are open and your actual ability.
For families and those returning to skiing: We choose a pace and terrain that allow you to repeat exercises safely. If family members ski and snowboard or have different goals, we can split the lesson time by prior arrangement. This example of a family of three shows how this can work.
For advanced skiers: Technique training is valuable even on familiar pistes: we work on clean turns, rhythm and control at a level suited to you. We choose the runs based on the conditions and the goals of your lesson.
See and Kappl: What should you know when planning?
See and Kappl form the Kappl & See ski region and share a ski pass. You can visit both areas using the ski bus; there is no continuous ski run connecting the two villages. The operator publishes the current ski pass prices, validity details and operating hours. Before booking a lesson, we will agree on the ski area and meeting point that best suit your plans.
Enquire about private lessons in the See ski area
Let me know when you will be in See, how many people will be taking part, whether you ski or snowboard, and what you would like to learn. We will then agree on the duration, meeting point and a suitable lesson plan. You can find more information about my lessons on the See private ski school homepage and the private ski lessons in See page.
